In the 18th century the Japanese artist Totoya Hokkei created drawings of the 108 heroes of the classical Chinese novel Suikoden. Unfortunately only 78 of these illustrations are now known. This book is the result of a project by 30 tattoo artists who took it upon themselves to complete the series of drawings. "30 Missing Heroes" contains both the original drawings as well as the additions by some of the best contemporary artists. Each illustration is accompanied by a description of the depicted hero, offering a unique insight in the 108 legendary characters.
